She has been dead since Grant was 10. Malcolm is a doctor at St. Mungos. He is a well known and experienced Healer, but far from being in charge of any department. Quirks/Habits: Grant can be overly quiet or overly inquisitive. He tends to prefer a book over a person most days. He also has a terrible habit for sleeping in, therefore he'll often have to sprint to floo to work and neglect to do certain common grooming things, such as shaving or brushing his hair. His superiors likely either hate this or are incredibly endeared to it. Dress Style: Casual preppy. Collared shirts, ironed trousers, button down shirts, loafers. When he's off the clock or permitted more casual wear, he dawns more normal clothing, t-shirts, jeans, trainers. Philosophy of Life: Never stop questioning. Usually found: The Ministry, Diagon Alley, home. PERSONALITY Grant's a nice and quiet boy. He's the first to raise his hand and will debate the teacher if he honestly still thinks his own answer is correct. The young man is curious, inquisitive, and tends to question everything in life. As people go, he is usually too trusting of women, leaving him with a majority of female friends. That doesn't help him socially, however, as he still will blush when highly complimented by a cute girl or embarrassed sexually. He's not terribly experienced in that particular aspect of life, though he talks like an old man when it comes to loss and acting like an adult. The contrast is interesting! It's also not something Grant will own up to. For such a friendly boy, he does have his secrets and keeps them well unless he's greatly stressed. Stress occurs often as he usually takes on a lot more than he can handle and doesn't really like asking for help. When he's relaxed and happy, he's almost playful. He can debate and argue with the best of them, even comes up with the occasional joke or humorous comment to make his friend chuckle. Grant's not a bad person to have in your court. He'll defend his friends well when he sees they need it, though often time he's too busy to notice these things and will neglect those he cares about. It's one of his goals not to allow that to happen to his son at least. APPEARANCE Grant Page has a surprisingly nice body. His strength is all in his torso and arms, but it's not often shown off and he never dresses with any thought to show off his body in the least. The young man always dresses heavily conservative and down right preppy sometimes. He prefers to spare people any view of the nasty long scars that run across his back from when he ran away as a child. There's nothing remarkable about his height, his weight, or anything of that sort, really. His complexion is darker, suggesting hints of more southern roots, but Grant doesn't tend to dwell on his family's past too greatly. Of course, since he tends to keep indoors a great deal, he's currently rather pale regardless. The young man has dark brown eyes that seem quietly intelligent, even while in animagus form. His hair is dark, nearly black, and tends to stick up uncles he deals with it properly through washing, combing, and gelling. It's not common that he has time for this regime, and when his hair is left to it's own devices and grows out, it curls messily. His nose is broad, but not really large. His features fit quite handsomely in his face, actually, and since getting home he's been trying not to keep himself hidden behind facial hair as happened often during school. There are two things that you'd notice about Grant Page: his scars and his hand. His scars are almost always covered, even when he swims. The only time he'll just sit around without a shirt on is at home, by himself or with just his son. His hand is always obvious. After the accident, he's had a wooden hand. It starts at his wrist and is a mix of sturdy wood and strong metal pieces. It holds several hexes and charms and is impervious to water and functions as any normal hand should. The only real problem is he isn't always terribly quick on the uptake when it comes to that hand. During his first week home, he had to go to St Mungo's to make sure it wasn't harmed after an incident where he was putting wood into the fire for his grandmother. It likely wasn't as bad as someone might suspect, but he won't talk about it because it embarrasses him.	HISTORY FAMILY HISTORY Cecelia and Malcolm attended Hogwarts together, but they didn't really know each other. Malcolm is five years older than Cecelia. They met while she was being treated at St Mungo's for injuries sustained during Auror training. She told him she wanted to make her brother proud and work for the Ministry, but that her true dream was in writing. Malcolm told her she should follow her dream because it sounded much less painful. They laughed, he asked her out, and it went brilliantly from then on. The couple went on many trips during their marriage, which only halted when Cecelia's pregnancy made it impossible. Grant's life was average during his youth. He was born to Cecelia and Malcolm Page about a year after they married. The child was actually due on their one year anniversary, but came two weeks early. The family lived happily for ten years when a terrible accident killed Grant's sweet mother. Prior to Grant's arrival, his mother was a great lover of travel and learning about creatures of all sorts. She was working on a book about one of her more recent trips when it had struck her that she had not gone on another one in years. For some reason, Russia was especially tickling her fancy. So, she discussed it with her her husband and the couple decided they'd go out together. Grant was left with his grandmother, Agnes. While on this trip, Cecelia was attacked by a Pogrebin, which encountered her when she wandered away from Malcolm. It filled her will hopelessness and then devoured her. Malcolm found her, but too late to save her life. Soon after his wife's death, Malcolm brought home a Crup to watch after his son. He did not trust himself any longer to take care of those he loved. Ever since, Grant and his father have had an odd relationship. They're close, but more like two friends or flat mates than father and son. Grant resents this and is rather jealous of people who have proper relationships with their father. When Grant was fourteen, he ran away from home. Well, more so flew. His father went out searching for him, using the Crup's nose as a guide. Grant was found sitting nice as you please in the middle of a clearing with a map in his lap. As Malcolm approached, he noticed a creature approaching his child. The father reached the boy just in time to save his life, but three long scratches were left across his back. Grant remembers running away, but he never saw the creature and had no real idea how close he was to death until his Grandmum told him the following Christmas. Malcolm swears it was a bicorn, but it is still a foggy issue that isn't discussed. Due to Ides magic, Grant has a child. The magic makes his family feel this to be perfectly natural even though the child just appeared on November 15th 1999 out of thin air practically. The story that hi grandmother and uncle have been telling him is that the Muggle girl he'd dated sporadically over the summer of 1998 had gotten pregnant in August and told his grandmother in September. Grandma Agnes had her sons and Grant's father try to owl Grant, but with the barrier up that did not work. The child was born healthy in May and the mother died during a class trip to London during a Death Eater attack in June. Grant's family had better means to manage the child, so he was put into his grandmother's custody temporarily. Now that Grant is out, his baby boy is fully his responsibility and he does his best to do right by the way. PERSONAL HISTORY Grant has had several girlfriends, but few one might consider serious. Most were set up for him by his grandmother and are related to the old women in her knitting circle. Many just brought him a date or two, but three were rather solid relationships. The first was in the summer of his third year, his father wanted him to study instead of going off with girls. This was the summer Grant ran away from home and in all the following hoopla, said girlfriend was scared off, not knowing how to cope with Grant's strange injury and family drama. The next girlfriend was before Fifth year and it was a great and fun relationship until Grant went to school. She, like the first and the next, was a Muggle and not very knowledgeable about Hogwarts. Before winter break, Grant was dumped by a letter that was forwarded to him from his grandmother. The third girl was not as caring, as when Grant returned home during Sixth year's winter break and found her snuggled up with another boy. Grant's been hurt and sworn off Muggle girls since then. Early in his Seventh year, Grant befriended Susan Bones. Not long after they started talking, she started dating Colin Creevey. Dennis, Colin's younger brother, was positive that Grant was plotting to break up the young couple, but Grant denied this. As much as he might not like it, Grant was not that sort of man. After several encounters, a poorly timed kiss between Grant and Susan, and a very unfortunate meeting between all three parties, Susan and Colin broke up and she started dating Grant not terribly long after. Colin and Grant's relationship was strained by the situation and was not helped by Dennis's goading and mockery of the new couple. Grant and Dennis fought, a topic not discussed and not terribly well known, and then finally stopped bonking heads shortly after. As the school year progressed, Grant and Susan grew close and he nearly confessed his love, which seemed to scare the girl away. When she approached him again and confessed her own feelings, they thought they'd never be happier. That was until they both got caught up in various activities. Susan in the Infirmary and Grant with his academics, Quidditch, and trying to figure out what was going on with the school. They rarely saw each other and when they did it felt great but then it felt like they were going in circles. Finally, shortly after the truth of Hogwarts came to light and the death of Harry Potter was announced, Grant sat down and thought long and hard about their situation. He was going to approach her and apologise for his absence, but he didn't get much of a chance. The couple argued, loudly, and Grant said things he didn't realize he had in him. The couple broke up after this. A couple months later, Grant hanging out a bit with Kit Bundy and eventually they started dating. Grant had trouble letting go of Susan at first, but soon found that regardless of talk and gossip, Kit was quite a sweet young woman. It was during this time that Grant found himself missing a hand. The boy reached his hand through a hole in the barrier surrounding the school. The hole quickly closed and took the boy's left hand with him. After heavy sedation and a failed attempt at a bamboo hand by Madam Pomfrey (Grant's allergic), he started settling himself figuring out how to manage without. Though many people gave him funny looks and more than one person told him how stupid that had been, Kit didn't seem to mind the new appendage and that was what mattered to him. Once they got out of the school, however, Grant found himself terribly busy and neglecting Kit much like he did Susan before.
